Creating common rules is a snap with GroupWise Rules Utility! GroupWise Rules Utility allows you to create common or default rules and folders in each user's account quickly and easily. GroupWise wireless "pager-enabled" users can even have automatic forwarding rules set up to keep them in touch when they are on the go.
GroupWise Rules Utility increases the return on your investment by maximizing your system administrators' time, allowing them to apply rules to multiple users' accounts simultaneously. Administrators are also able to create sets of rules specific to group membership, container object membership, or individual logins. Administrators no longer have to waste time re-creating rules for users who have accidentally modified or deleted them.
Specific Rules for Specific Groups and Users:
GroupWise Rules Utility can be called from the local workstation or is installed in a common directory on the server (SYS:PUBLIC\CRULES\). The executable reads the CRU.INI file to determine which data file contains the rules that will be applied to specific user accounts, allowing specified rule sets for different users.
Continually Update Rule Sets:
GroupWise Rules Utility can be configured to update user rules each time they login. Most network administrators will use NAL Force Run to distribute common rules when users log in to the network. GroupWise Rules Utility will also work by running a batch file upon completion of a login script.
Easily Create and Distribute Rule Sets:
GroupWise Rules Utility contains two executable files: CRUUtil.exe is used by the administrator to create rules and CRU.exe is run by the client on a Windows workstation to import the rule(s) into their account. The CRUUtil.exe administration interface is similar to the standard GroupWise Client interface for creating rules.
GroupWise Rules Utility provides a structured method of distributing GroupWise rules that requires minimal maintenance. Valuable Administrator time is gained by simultaneously creating rule sets for users and rule sets for specific groups. GroupWise Rules Utility also eliminates user frustration when rules are accidentally deleted. The user just needs to log back in to GroupWise in order to reinstate their GroupWise rules.
